IBIS (Improving Behaviour In Schools)

#

The IBIS team is a successful joint venture of psychologists and skilled classroom teachers that has been providing coaching and training in over 50 Bristol schools for the last eight years.

We come into schools to support staff to reflect on their practice and develop their own practical strategies that are directly relevant to the issues they face in their own environment.

Our focus is improving behaviour in schools by building on what is already going well.

We help you look for practical solutions to the real behaviour.

IBIS is:

  • Solution-focused: thinking about what's working and what's next rather than ‘what's wrong?
  • Person-centred : the coachee determines the issues to focus on and decides on what might work for them
  • Confidential
  • Non-judgmental
  • Realistic
  • Practical
  • Objective
  • A team: applying collective experience and expertise
  • Tailor-made: specific, in school support

What clients say about IBIS or our work

"The teaching group has settled well and, having once been regarded as a dysfunctional group that was impossible to teach, is now one of the least problematic groups in Year 8." Keith Gully (Pastoral Support Teacher, Fairfield High School)

"The IBIS team "build mainly on strategies that members of the group were already using without realising it - this was really useful for us all to hear and build on." (Head Teacher, Bristol Primary school)
